1946년 7월
미국 아리조나주 덕슨에서 태어난 Linda Ronstadt는
아버지의 격려로 가수로서 대성할 수 있었다.
1965년 스톤포니스라는 그룹을 결성하여
웨스턴에 컨트리가 혼합된 음악으로
클럽위주의 활동 2장의 앨범을 출반한 이들은 해체되고
린다는 솔로로 활동을 재개하게 되었다.

1969년에 솔로로 나서서
70년대와 80년대 미국 Pop과 Country의
그야말로 슈퍼스타로 자리매김 했던 그녀.
우리에게도 잘 알려진 그녀의 노래를 꼽아보자면,
[Long Long Time],
[Different Drum],
[It’s so easy],
[Hurts so good],
[Just one Look],
[Blue Bayou],
[Don’t Know Much] 등 차고 넘친다.

1970년에 발표한 싱글은 최초로 대히트를 하였고,
이 노래 단 한곡으로 그녀는 스타덤에 올랐다.
